Family Support Services Of Amarillo

Counseling Services | Family Support Services Of Amarillo

Our Beginnings
The organization now known as Family Support Services of Amarillo was founded in 1908 by a group of Amarillo businessmen who were inspired to start the organization (then called Associated Charities) by the suffering men, women, and children they saw who did not have any other resources for assistance or healing. Today, FSS serves over 25,000 people each year, including victims of sexual assault, family violence, and human trafficking; at risk children, families, and individuals; people in need of individual, group, marital, and family counseling; and veterans, family members of veterans, and surviving spouses.

Our Team
Our team members exemplify all of the qualities that make a non profit agency like ours extraordinary: integrity, expertise, and a commitment to service. Whether providing counseling to someone in who has suffered trauma, providing support to a survivor of domestic violence, assisting a homeless Veteran find housing, or showing children how to live healthier lives, each member of the team is dedicated to helping our clients heal and take action to create sustainable change in themselves and our community.

Our Mission is "to empower individuals and families through comprehensive advocacy, education, and intervention services." Fulfilling our Mission will help us reach our vision of "a community where individuals and families are healthy, stable, and violence free."
