Jason was born in Lubbock, spent his elementary years in Plainview, then jr. high and high school in Groom. After graduating from WTA&MU with a degree in Kinesiology, Jason worked in the nonprofit world for 26 years. Most of that time was with the American Cancer Society and most recently with the United Way of Amarillo & Canyon.
In April of 2020, Jason became the Community Liaison at Tyson Foods, developing a position that is new to Amarillo. His responsibilities include helping Tyson employees find resources in the community when needed as well as working with Tyson’s leadership to ensure that Tyson is a good community partner. In this role, he continues to get to help people which is very important to him.
Jason enjoys watching all sports, going to the gym, going to concerts, and spending time with friends and family. He has two children, daughter Jessica in Denison, TX, and son Luke, at Texas Tech. He is a founding member of Texas Panhandle Charities, a local nonprofit that supports other nonprofits through its two annual events, the TPC Golf Classic and the Wade Black Clay Shoot.
