Jennifer joined Family Support Services in 2020 as the Amarillo’s first Suicide Response Team’s LOSS Team Coordinator. Jennifer Potter graduated from West Texas A&M University with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She served a volunteer internship at The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center which led her to the Amarillo Children’s Home in 2012. She served as a direct care staff member and later as the Direct Care Administrator/Case Manager for foster care youth for over eight years. She pursued her Masters of Social Work at West Texas A&M and served as an intern for The Hope and Healing Place facilitating the Generations Family Bereavement Group and the Heartprints Pregnancy and Infant Loss support group.
Jennifer served her final internship through the Amarillo Police Department Crisis Intervention Team which led to her involvement in the Panhandle Behavioral Health Alliance, Texas Panhandle Suicide Prevention Coalition, and assistance in the development of the first Amarillo Area Suicide Review Team.
She earned her License Master of Social Work shortly after graduating.
Jennifer is a social worker through and through. She is devoted to helping others as well as role modeling to her four daughters the value of “work through servant leadership.” She enjoys being a “firefighter wife” and being outside as much as possible.
Jennifer’s motto in life is “Do not fear work that seems to have no end.”
