Lauren Diestelkamp was born in Amarillo but grew up in Northern Colorado. She recently returned to the Texas Panhandle to be closer to family. She has a BA in English with a concentration in literature and creative writing and an MA in clinical mental health counseling with a concentration in trauma-focused therapy. Lauren approaches her work from a trauma-informed lens and brings an eclectic balance of creativity and evidence-based therapeutic techniques. She is incredibly excited to continue her journey with the FSS family and to embrace her role as Behavioral Health and Wellness Coordinator and LPC-Associate. She is currently supervised by Lupe Schneider, LPC-S.
She has a passion for giving a voice to the voiceless and taking an active role in ending the stigma surrounding mental illness and domestic violence as well as suicide. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, bird watching, watching old movies, and playing with her cat, Wallace.
