The Volunteer Advocate Coordinator will be responsible for the recruitment, coordination, and training of advocacy services volunteers for Family Support Services of Amarillo (FSS). The Volunteer Advocate Coordinator will also provide advocacy, education, and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault, family violence, and trafficking as well as support group facilitation.

PREVENTION SPECIALIST & SOUNDS OF SUCCESS TEAM MEMBER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Status: Full Time / Non-Exempt

Reports to: Strengthening Families Program Coordinator

The Prevention Specialist position will provide education services for youth enrolled in the Strengthening Families program and on our partnering community and school sites; this position includes the task of leading the Sounds of Success Program which utilizes music production as an expressive arts intervention strategy to engage youth in a unique way about hard to address issues such as bullying, self-worth/esteem and teen dating violence.    

This position is also responsible to develop and implement appropriate Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drugs (ATOD) and violence prevention activities and programs for youth. This will include facilitating small skills groups, community outreach, and the implementation of a summer program.

 Position requires broad collaboration and coordination with other service providers throughout Potter and Randall counties.

SAFE HOUSE FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION

Status: Full Time / Non-Exempt

Reports to: Safe House Manager

The Safe House Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, upkeep and cleaning of the Safe House building and property. Regular duties will include, but are not limited to: general building repairs; general cleaning of office areas, kitchen, restrooms, interior and exterior glass, and vacant resident rooms; light bulb replacement; and carpet cleaning to assure a clean and healthy environment. Perform other tasks as assigned.
